Hazelnut Latte Bar

£5.65

Cacao and coffee share many commonalities (read my blog post about this here), including their huge flavour profiles. I have chosen to pair the ‘Neighbourhood’ blend of coffee beans from Exe Coffee Roasters with Colombian cocoa butter and hazelnuts to create a creamy, vegan alternative to white chocolate bar which is finished with a sprinkle of crushed coffee beans.

Ingredients: Colombian cocoa butter, raw cane sugar, toasted hazelnuts, coffee beans.

Firstly, the rich creaminess is on point making it hard to believe this chocolate is fully vegan. The taste of the coffee was well balanced and added subtle and slightly acidic fruity notes which went really well with the mild hazelnut aroma. There was just the right amount of sweetness allowing all the flavours to come through, and when I finally hit the sharp crunch of the crushed coffee beans, this was the last step to create the perfect creamy white chocolate hazelnut latte dance in my mouth. Yum!

Would I buy this again: Yes.

About the coffee

“The Neighbourhood blend is a top end espresso that is rich in body with balanced acidity and a sweet finish. A perfect cafetiere with gentle acidity, big mouthfeel and notes of chocolate to finish.

A blend is about achieving a flavour that is greater than the sum of its parts and we have been perfecting the Neighbourhood blend for some six years.  Our roast profile continues to find ways of bringing out the very best that the component coffees have to offer.” - Exe Coffee Roasters
